The AAS encourages health care professionals as well as Journal readers to submit articles, testimonials, and letters to the editor. These should be sent to Patsy McCook at (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

If a writer wishes to submit an article that has been published elsewhere, it is required that information on its previous publication be provided. All writers will be notified as to whether their submission is accepted for publication.

Writers whose Articles are accepted for publication will receive a one year membership in the AAS.

Articles

  • There are no length requirements, but all articles are subject to editing for space and clarity.
  • Submissions must be accompanied by the writer’s full name, address, and e-mail.
  • Articles should be written in Microsoft Word and sent as an e-mail attachment.
  • Accompanying photos are encouraged; if possible, these should be of high resolution and sent by e-mail in JPEG format.
  • Research-based articles should include bibliographic references.
  • Submissions should include the writer’s professional background and academic qualifications which will be published in full or in part.
  • Writers should indicate their willingness to be contacted by readers. For those who wish not to be contacted, only their name, city, and state will be published. 
  • All articles are subject to review by the Journal’s editor and editorial advisors.
  • All medical articles are also subject to review by the Journal’s medical advisors.

Testimonials, Letters to the Editor

  • Testimonials and letters to the editor should be written either (1) in Microsoft Word and sent by e-mail or (2) in the body of an e-mail.
  • Submissions are subject to editing for space and clarity
  • Submissions must be accompanied by the writer’s full name, address, and e-mail.
  • Writers should indicate their willingness to be contacted by readers. For those who wish not to be contacted, only their name, city, and state will be published.
