The American Apitherapy Society, Inc (AAS) is a tax-exempt, non-profit membership organization incorporated in 1989. The Society's mis sion is to advance and promote the use of the products of the honey bee hive for health maintenance and medicinal purposes. The products include bee pollen, bee venom, beeswax, honey, propolis and royal jelly.

Towards this end, it assembles information on Apitherapy, collects data on different therapies and on adverse reactions to hive products, and establishes protocols of treatment. AAS informs the medical and scientific communities as well as the general public through the Journal of the AAS, through seminars, workshops and consultations; it devises criteria for qualifications of Apitherapists and standards of their professional conduct. AAS also organizes one or more annual courses on Apitherapy.
